Accommodation in Rorbu Rau
What is the difference between Rorbu Rau and Rorbu Fugleliv?
Rorbu Fugleliv is a shared accommodation designed for short stays for guests attending meetings and celebrations at Salmasalen.
Rorbu Rau, on the other hand, is a more private rorbu, suitable for couples and families who want the entire place to themselves.
How do we get there?
Our archipelago is located on Sæverudsøy and is easily accessible by car. There is a short walking distance from the parking area to the rorbu.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in: 3:00 PM
Check-out: 12:00 PM
We are flexible depending on availability.
Before leaving the rorbu, please remove bed linen and towels and place them in the laundry room. Remember to return the key to the key box before departure.
How is the access – can you drive all the way up, or does anything need to be carried?
From the parking area, it is approximately a 100-meter walk to the rorbu.
Can we book single-night stays?
Yes, this is possible from September to April.
From May to August, a minimum stay of two nights is required.
What kitchen equipment is available?
A fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to prepare good meals.
Is parking available?
The rorbu has its own parking space with a charging point.
Can we rent a boat during our stay?
Yes, we offer rental of an 18-foot boat with a 40 hp engine. Please contact the hosts if you are interested.
What are the beds like?
Master bedroom (2nd floor): Box spring bed with a mattress topper, 180 cm.
Bedroom (2nd floor): Box spring bed with a mattress topper, 120 cm.
Bedroom (1st floor): Family bunk bed with good mattresses, 120 cm / 90 cm.
Are pets allowed?
Unfortunately, pets are not allowed.
Is there mobile coverage or Wi-Fi, or should we expect a more disconnected stay?
Yes, there is good Wi-Fi coverage and mobile reception throughout the entire area.
Are there any additional costs (cleaning, firewood, equipment, parking)?
There are no additional costs.
Does the rorbu have outdoor furniture?
Yes, there is a table and chairs stored in the shed outside. Cushion sets are kept on the hat shelf in the entryway.
Do you have a grill?
Yes, a gas grill is available. Please disconnect it and clean it after use.
Where do we dispose of trash and glass?
Residual waste should be disposed of in the large cabin containers at the entrance to Sæverudsøyvegen.
Glass should be disposed of in designated glass containers.
Are there hiking areas nearby?
Yes, both Goddo and Siggjo are popular hiking destinations. Several other hikes can be found on ut.no.
Where can we find shops and cafés?
Bømlo Storsenter and HSD Senteret offer a wide range of shops. Viergo has excellent baked goods and coffee.
Are there activities in the area?
Yes – a cultural centre, swimming pool, and an indoor golf centre are all located on Bømlo.
