Who can rent Rorbu Fugleliv?
Rorbu Fugleliv can be rented by guests who are renting the Salmasalen.
What is the difference between Rorbu Fugleliv and Rorbu Rau?
Rorbu Fugleliv is a shared accommodation designed for short stays for guests attending meetings and celebrations at Samlasalen.
Rorbu Rau, on the other hand, is a more private rorbu, suited for couples and families who want the entire place to themselves.
How do we get there?
Vårt Øyrike is located on Sæverudsøy and is easily accessible by car. It is a short walk from the parking area to the rorbu.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in: 3:00 PM
Check-out: 12:00 PM
We are flexible subject to availability.
What is the access like – can you drive all the way up, or does anything need to be carried?
From the parking area, it’s approximately a 100-metre walk to the rorbu.
What kitchen equipment is available?
The kitchen is equipped for preparing breakfast, lunch, dinner, and evening meals, and includes facilities for making coffee.
Are there parking facilities?
Yes, we have a shared parking area with 12–14 spaces and three charging points.
Can we rent a boat during our stay?
Yes, we offer rental of an 18-foot boat with a 40 hp engine. Please contact the hosts if you are interested.
How are the beds?
Beds are Svane box-spring mattresses with a top mattress.
Single beds: 90 cm
Double beds: 150 cm
All rooms are equipped with duvets and pillows.
Are pets allowed?
Unfortunately, pets are not allowed.
Is there mobile coverage or Wi-Fi, or should we expect a more disconnected stay?
Yes, there is good Wi-Fi coverage and mobile reception throughout the entire area.
Are there any additional costs (cleaning, firewood, equipment, parking)?
There are no additional costs.
Where do we dispose of waste and glass?
Residual waste should be disposed of in the large cabin containers at the entrance to Sæverudsøyvegen.
Glass should be disposed of in designated glass containers.
Are there hiking areas nearby?
Yes, both Goddo and Siggjo are popular hiking destinations. Several other hikes can be found on ut.no.
Where can we find shops and cafés?
Bømlo Storsenter and HSD Senteret offer a wide range of shops. Viergo has excellent baked goods and coffee.
Are there activities in the area?
Yes – a cultural centre, swimming pool, and an indoor golf centre are all located on Bømlo.
